Emmy-award winning journalist Rhori Johnston joined the NewsChannel 5 Network in the fall of 2005. He is co-anchor of NewsChannel 5 at 5:00 and 10:00 with Kristin Priesol.

Johnston came to Nashville from WTHR-TV in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he was a weekend anchor and general assignment reporter. His career as a broadcast journalist has taken him across the country, including anchoring and reporting for NewsChannel 5's sister station, KLAS-TV, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Johnston has been honored with a regional Emmy award for anchoring in Indianapolis, and was twice voted Best TV News Anchor in Las Vegas. He is a graduate of Syracuse University with a BA in English, with additional post graduate studies at the University of Houston.

Rhori, his wife and two children live in Franklin.

This year’s awards luncheon will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 11:30am to 1pm, at Cabana Restaurant, 1910 Belcourt Ave. in Nashville. The awards will have NewsChannel 5’s Rhori Johnston as the emcee.
